Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2009, now offering under- graduate degree course with 120 intake capacity. The department has gained the reputation of producing eminent engineers as professionals, researchers and entrepreneurs. The department is proud to be collaborated with well-known industries in the sector.
The faculty members of the department have their qualification in various specializations like Design, Manufacturing, Thermal and Industrial Engineering. Various research project are in progress carried out by faculties.
The degree represents an excellent combination of basic engineering science, Mechanical Engineering theory and practice, communication skills and engineering management. This course is designed for students who wish to become professional engineers in the fields of Mechanical Engineering.
The academic activities are supported by well equipped and state of the art laboratories. Experimental and computational facilities are being continuously upgraded. Industry interaction has been increased, and many students are working on industry-sponsored projects.

Goals Of Department:

1. To maintain a high standard of mechanical engineering education through outstanding teaching, innovative curricula, and research training that reflect the changing needs of society.
2. To attract highly motivated students with enthusiasm, aptitude and interest in mechanical engineering.
3. To increase the public awareness of Departmental activities and the Mechanical Engineering profession.

PSO 1: Design a system, component or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, regulatory, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability.
PSO 2: Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data, in different areas of Design Engineering, Heat Power, Renewable Energy, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing and related Management.
PSO 3: Use techniques, skills and upcoming software, machine tools and processes necessary in the practice of Mechanical Engineering profession.

PO-1: Acquire knowledge in mechanical science(s) and apply them to various practical applications in different mechanical engineering industries.
PO-2: Develop smart thinking skills & use analytical tools to formulate problems and identify workable solutions.
PO-3: Design and manufacturing of mechanical systems/parts with the application of mechanical engineering knowledge.
PO-4: Investigate relevant technical information, use analytical tools to formulate complex problems and identify workable solutions.
PO-5: Identify, formulate and solve mechanical engineering problems using modern design and manufacturing approaches through computational and software tools. 
PO-6: Recognize the responsibilities associated with the use of technology & processes on societal & legal issues of concern in respect of health, safety and culture.
PO-7: Understand contemporary issues in sustainable development and in providing technology solutions considering impact of economic, social, political, environmental and global issues.
PO-8:  Creating awareness of morals and ethics in working culture to practice engineering with a more responsibility.
PO-9: Apply the mechanical knowledge for making cost effective as well as safety and environment friendly system(s).
PO.10: Communicate effectively in written, oral and graphical forms.
PO.11: Develop ability to engage in lifelong learning, adapt new developments and participate in continuing education opportunities
